It is obvious that your role here is to hate anything left of AOC but your bias skews your ability to observe reality. I don't agree with Pete Stauber on certain ideas, specifically his support of a freedom-infringing vaccination database, a view of his that I would guess you agree with. That said, to babble that the republican party is a dying dinosaur is amusingly inaccurate and a result of your extreme partisan politics. Polling even from lefties like Doug Schoen, currently shows that people are fed up with failing democrat ideas and policies, fed up with the incompetent, failing, imbecilic drooler infesting the Oval Office, and the anti-police, anti-freedom screamers in congress. Hispanics, a sharply growing voting demographic thanks to horrific left wing border policies, are moving to the right. Continue to support the move by democrats to the extreme left and you can watch the carnage unfold in the 2022 midterms and the 2024 elections.
John: Just stumbled onto this article. Do you know how I could contact Bob Lakso? He was a huge favorite of mine when he played for the Komets and I would love to get in touch with him. Thanks for any help you can give me!
This article touches on the most important issues of our time. Unfortunately, yhe author still believes in left/right liberal/conservative paradigms which manifest in the delusions of the parties. It makes zero difference whether a politician is a democrat or republican. Everyone should know by now, both parties are completely owned by corporate money and power.
In the early '50s, when Howard and I were freshmen or sophomores at the University of Missouri-Columbia, we attended a series of Jazz at the Phil concerts in the old Brewer Fieldhouse. No charge, with your student ID. The one I still remember featured Ella Fitzgerald and Louie Armstrong. Can you imagine those two together -- free! Decades later we heard Frank Sinatra at the Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis. This time we appreciated the privilege of hearing a legend in person. Although it was the twilight of his career and his voice wasn't what it had been, he sang all his old hits, and the charisma was still there. I'm so happy to have discovered this treasure trove of your writing. I always knew you were something special. Interestingly, because you remembered hot type and hand-set heads, I sort of assumed we were about the same age. Now I surmise you're close to the age of our son. Live long and prosper. I'm still writing for the Pulse and will be looking for your next piece.
The inhumane society we are relentlessly creating, goes along this type of inhumane so called "medicine", as a disguise to kill, murder, and eliminate people legally and under government mandate. Medicicine has sold their soul to corporations and and governments, it's not anymore and art practiced in temples, it's a perfid psychopathic type of busisness. We need to get back to holistic way of treatments, and like Dr Edward Bach said "Heal Thyself".
911 was a mega ritual, Ode to Aleister Crowley, George W. Bush's grandfather. Ann Cappelletti and Barbara Bush are illegitimate witch daughters of Aleister Crowley, conceived with sex magick in 1923 and 1924 with their separate mothers to be the AntiChrist. Born girls they could only be witches.
All Bush and Cappelletti brothers (practitioners of witchcraft) were involved in an aspect of the 911 controlled demolitions. John and Mike Cappelletti's demoliton crew got the lucrative demolition job of the WTC from Silverstein. The demolition crew based in Upper Darby, PA (Ann Cappelletti's coven and home) got the job to gut, prep and plant the explosives for the 911 controlled demolitions.
Excellent article.
Although I accept that just eliminating the ability of someone to 'make a profit' doesn't change their consciousness, in attempting to create a better world, the degree of sociopathic activity as outlined in this article is such that we really should not have to operate under that principle any longer. I have a better idea: that we do things - share goods and services with one another; and give of our best in the process - not out of the motive of making a profit, but out of a higher motive. The highest motive that there could ever be: Out of gratitude to our Creator for life with meaning. Out of, in a word: Love. And let's leave this tired old world behind. It really is beneath us, as the 'spiritual beings having a human experience' that we are in our true natures. Time to graduate from (the equivalent of) spiritual elementary school. And start soaring into the higher realms. Just waiting for us, to awaken to them. And to our true, positive potential. This inferior potential that we have succumbed to, in the singleminded pursuit of money, is simply too degrading, for any self-respecting incarnate soul to have to endure any longer, on our mutual Path.
We have work to do. Let's get to it. A whole New World awaits us. Of Beauty. And above all: Truth. The Truth of who we are, really. And of what life is all about. Really.
Hello! I am the daughter mentioned in Jim Lundstrom's column. I remember Margaret Atwood's visit very hazily -- while he was a "greasy little reporter" from the Superior Evening Telegram at the time, I was the same at the Duluth News Tribune. I don't really remember going to Zona Rosa's, although that sounds right; my father liked that place. But he never drove a Buick Century. Unless he had borrowed a staff car from UWS (was there such a thing?) he would have been driving his own car. In 1982, I'm not sure what that was--he drove a Corvair for a while, and then a Camaro, and later a Toyota. But never a Buick.
