Thank you for this article. It paints the dog murderer as a very mentally unstable person who should have every weapon he owns taken away from him. He sounds like a lunatic who obviously has an issue with tourists coming to "his island". To shoot an innocent dog dead on the spot for just stepping foot on his property is the action of someone who is very unstable and scary. If this Bruzzo was killing his chickens there would have been PROOF of such carnage, but he didn't even take a photo...because it didn't happen! What an angry, evil person, and I hope he is punished to the full extent of the law for what he chose to do that day to this family's beloved pet.

Where's the PROOF? Anyone with an ounce of common sense would have taken a photo of these supposed dead chickens. Clearly a story conjured to justify the shooting/murdering of an innocent dog, and to save his own angry and unstable a$$ from being thrown in jail.

Is Madeline Island a dog park? Obviously if the dog 'got away' it isn't trained and should be on a leash. That being the case, the shooter has no idea if the dog is rabid or not, and probably did the public a favor by putting it down. Prove it wasn't rabid. Prove it DIDN'T attack his chickens.

Mr Percent, The short amount of time lapsed in receiving a response from you lends credence to my troll theory. As far as jobs go, I began doing odd jobs-part time stuff, paper routes etc when I was ten years old and never stopped. I am now 64 as of last week and will be officially retired shortly. I don't need to work and overall did ok. I survived the elitist and governmental challenges of being a worker in this country. I worked hard and paid my taxes, and had respect for the law of the land. The only time I didn't work was in the case of illness or injury, and unfortunately, there were a couple of catastrophic instances of that. But I survived, and made it back into the workplace so I could be a productive societal contributor, earning paychecks and paying taxes so that all of the freeloading Red States could make it through....

The Madeline Island Police allowed Gene Nelson to shoot Baileys dog in 2008 without any consquences. Gene Nelson verbally assulted Bailey without any accountability. There was not any proof that her dog killed 27 chickens since the only blood was on the dog's leg from Gene Nelson's bullet hole. So my question is did Gene Nelson look for vet tags before or after he killed Bruzzo? He seemed to make a big deal that there were no vet tags. He lied when Nick approached him and was overheard bragging about knowing more. The DA better come back with charges because Gene Nelson already got away with shooting one dog but needs to be held responsible for murdering and lying about Bruzzo!
