Are you kidding me Patricia? As a present Islander, we make MOST of our money from tourists - the island is beautiful, Gene Nelson makes it ugly, scary and an evil place to be. He has no remorse, feelings, and thrives on hurting others - he finds pure joy in making others suffer - he will rot in hell - I just wish he would kill himself like he thinks about on a daily basis - no one would miss him. I am willing to testify on the Pelligrin's behalf - I live on the island and have witnessed several illegal deaths of animals by the hands of Gene Nelson - he needs to be put in jail - FOREVER!!

Prevention is key. The dog owner is at fault for not controlling their dog. Behaviors have consequences.

How is your dogs life more important than someones pet chickens life? I was quite sad after loosing Mayor Cutie my pet chicken after it was attacked & killed by my neighbors dog on my property. I reported the incident to the local law enforcement. The sherif stated if my livestock is threatened i had right to kill the dog to prevent it from killing my livestock.

Some on here are saying the dog didn’t deserve to die, well either does someones chicken. Even if it was just livestock, that is an investment, and takes time and energy to care for like your pet dog.

No dog would have be shot or chicken would have died if the dog owners acted more responsibly. The dog owners are lucky the dog didn’t attack a human or another dog... Again, keeping the dog tethered would have PREVENTED the whole thing with the chicken and dog still being alive and well.

An uncontrolled dog on private property is a threat to livestock. Even family friendly pet dogs can kill a chicken quite fast.

Yep, if the owner cannot control the dog how the heck would a stranger know how to? Dogs hunting birds act quickly too. The dog was quick enough to get away from its owners to the point it became a threat to other sentient beings it could act quick enough to kill along the way.
Its quite interesting to see just how disconnected many are to their meat/egg based foods they consume daily. Livestock has value just like a pet does. Too bad so many out there lack the connection to their food if they actually understood the time/money/energy to produce the meats & eggs they consumed and actually even tried doing it once maybe they would have more respect for the livestock owers out there.

Do you eat meat? How many cows & chickens have you raised personally to fill your pie hole? An uncontrollable dog can be dangerous to the animals used to produce meat and eggs. See how you would feel if you raised those chickens from lil hatchlings to adulthood and then had to deal with tourists & locals who are irresponsible dog owners. Keep your dog on a leash. What if the dog killed another dog or hurt a child then would you share some empathy towards the other people involved.
It really sucks when your own animal dies solely because of the irresponsibility of a dog owner to control their dog. Try raising your own food/wool/egg producers and see how it feels if they are attacked...

Sounds like this uncontrolled dog "enjoyed" killing.
Do you eat meat? Each time you do an animal has to die. Your emotional moral response may be influenced by your culture and lack of experience with livestock. Your apporach seems to be to only value the dogs life as if the other animals are less equal. People value their livestock and protect it.

This would not be an issue if an uncontrollable dog wasn't on private property that housed livestock.

From the article above - "Early on the morning of July 7, 2018, as they were packing up to return home, Bruzzo squeezed by Nick Pellegrin in the doorway of the cabin and RAN into the woods. Pellegrin ASSUMED that Bruzzo had seen a squirrel or a deer and chased it. He WASN'T PARTICULARY WORRIED, ASSUMING that the dog would soon return."

So the dog owner didn't even go follow/chase down their dog & insead left it alone to "freely roam" in someone elses community & private property. Unless you define "freely roam to mean something entirely different... (insert eyeroll)

If you've followed the story, the owner started looking for the dog immediately. He wasn't "concerned" because he didn't realize a psychopath was across the way ready to murder the next dog on his property. He wasn't "concerned" because the dog always came back. God, Gene, you are so transparent on this website. Is it upsetting you don't have more supporters so you have to keep commenting under different names? You're not fooling anyone. You're pathetic and you must have a very lonely life.

This is actually hilarious. The dog enjoyed killing? Give me a freakin break.
"People value their livestock and protect it." In case you weren't aware Gene is an inept builder and apparently also doesn't know how to protect his chickens from the known wildlife on the island. So apparently he didn't value his livestock, he just wanted to kill a dog. Or maybe since HE "enjoys" killing so he also enjoys the scene of a chicken attack by a pack of coyotes so he has never built anything to protect them intentionally.

Some people value free range chickens & if his chickens are on his land they are there actually helping the community by reducing the bugs and they are producing local protein. They are an important part of the community. #KnowChickensKnowPeaceNoChickensNoPeace
