Wouldn't it be nice to hear our state and national legislators actually answer the questions posed by Ms. Arneson? Instead we just hear talking points about jobs and economy and given assurances that proper precautions will be taken while the same legislatures seek to grant variances, and change the very laws designed to protect our water. History will not be kind to those who refuse to have the courage to protect our most precious resources.

As a mother of a high school student in Duluth who has African ancestry and Scandinavian ancestry, I hope Northerners can see that Black heritage is as much our nation's heritage as any ethnicity and the most defining moments in U.S. history the last 60 years have been race relations including the most recent movement of Black Lives Matter.

When we talk about treatment of mine water, RO is simply a unit operation that concentrates contaminated water - not so much a "water treatment" process in its own right. Pretreatment of mine water and the additional processing or disposal of brine are usually the costly and difficult part of a treatment system that includes RO. In fact, RO racks are relative inexpensive.
If the only goal is to concentrate the mine water then it is appropriate to limit the discussion to pretreatment and RO. Otherwise, it is quite meaningless to discuss performance of a RO unit without also discussing pretreatment and processing or management of residuals in the same breath. I find it more useful to think of RO as nothing more than the unit operation that concentrates the contaminated mine water.

You indicate that the School District is reviewing Policy #3215 that states that the Duluth District shall "*have the State of Minnesota Auditor conduct a financial audit of School District funds on an annual basis*." Also, you indicated that the School District is considering revising this policy to state that the Duluth District "*will contract with private audit firms to conduct a financial audit of School District funds on an annual basis*."

The Office of the State Auditor does not perform any annual financial and compliance audits for school districts.

The Office of the State Auditor does not have sufficient staff to perform the audit of the Duluth School District in a timely manner.

4) Do you see any problems with the proposed chance?

I do not see a problem with the proposed change, but it is ultimately up to the Board to decide.

this article confirmed my suspicions that the huge improvement noted in my partner's dementia over the past year was related to the elimination of drugs he no longer needed - if he ever had. I've been able to convince Dr.s to remove seven different drugs in the past 12 months. And now his diagnosis has now been changed - he is no longer in the dementia category! And it is entirely possible that the brain may continue healing. Now I'm ready to go after the two remaining drugs I suspect. I have a terrific story to tell about drug-induced dementia. Not due to bad or uncaring Dr.s; they are simply following the best practices guidelines without consideration for the individual patient.

As a doctor involved in this field for 40 years ,I am shocked about the misinformation published here and it is difficult to be polite reading this mainly "garbage". 81 academic international professors some time ago all signed an official protest objecting to this misinformation in this field. More recently an American professor suggested at least 70% of doctors involved are not experts. PED.MED published an article "ADHD misinformation and Misconceptions" Surely there has to be solution to Correct diagnosis and safe treatment for these conditions. The pilot who crashed his plane recently killing all aboard was misdiagnosed and incorrectly treated and wrongly managed, as far as I can see when viewed from a distance.

Two inaccuracies in the article I noticed, one, there is nothing in the union's Constitution that ties officer's pay to the average wage of members. This would be especially hard to do if we did at all considering we don't actually track the exact wages of our members. Additionally, only one of our officers is actually paid, and that's the General Secretary-Treasurer, who runs our international office in Chicago. That position is paid $15/hour, forty hours a week.

The other inaccuracy is that there is no charter for a branch or region in Uganda. There were members there, but there are none now and they never had a charter.
