Phil, our freedom was gained from the monarch in England through war, and your liberty is sustained through government and its agency. When progressives act to remove rights like the second ammendment through government, they are working against liberty and the fundament purpose of the government, to sustain freedom. It is not the governments purpose to promote equality of outcome, but allow us the LIBERTY to do as best we can to be successful. Patriots are correct to support the military when it's used to promote Libertary (freedom.)

Consider a few facts. The Revolutionary War resulted in our INDEPENDENCE from England, NOT any "freedom" for people. The basic English legal system operated in the colonies before the war and continued largely intact after the war. Slaves, indentured servants, native Americans, women, and the majority of the white, male population without property were in no way any more (or less) "free" than before the war. Our "freedoms" were establish in the Bill of Rights many years after the end of the Revolutionary War. Not by military action but by citizen activists demanding a statement of rights before ratifying the new Constitution to replace the Articles of Confederation.

Our history is a continuing struggle to give those general principles of "freedom" substance and meaning for real people's lives. Applying the Bill of Rights to everyday situations has been the work of citizen activists (for example voting rights, civil rights, labor rights, women's rights activists). None of this has been secured by wars or military action. Progress has been made by citizen action. legislation. and changing attitudes, not by military action or wars. Got freedom? Thank a dissident not a veteran.

The bill of rights was a deal made between the federalists who wanted a strong federal government and anti federalists. The bill of rights secured the freedoms they felt were threatened by having a sting central government. Had Madison and Hamilton gotten their way, we'd have no bill of rights, these are the same statists who today are just like the modern democrats and their globalist agenda. Maybe in your day, PA, the democrats were the party of dissidents, but that ship sailed with Bill Clinton. So, thank today's vets because their brand of conservative is much more dissident than the piss whining post modernist party of socialists.

How does this differ from the kerosene you buy for a space heater, except that it is MORE refined, meaning, contains less impurities?

While it also says :" A complex combination of hydrocarbons including naphthenes, paraffins, and aromatics. " it is hard to see how it contains such and is 100% kerosene, unless kerosene, itself, is a "A complex combination of hydrocarbons including naphthenes, paraffins, and aromatics. "

I'm not against your basic thesis, I'm just looking for clarification. If you have more detailed information on JP-5 constituents, perhaps you can list the source.

I appreciate the vote. And I'll disagree with you a little but as something of an auto-didact who believes in learning on my own. I liked elementary school. I survived junior high. I thrived in highschool only because the previous three years had been so, so-so.

But when I graduated I was certain that most of my learning came from extra curricular activities like debate.

College was interesting but again largely for the extra curriculars except for Education classes. Taking them wasn't quite as bad as a horse facing the glue factory but they were a slog.

Anyway, I'm writing a book about my experience with education. If failure really teaches you, I'm the Einstein of Education.
