Totally agree on commission meeting recordings being posted. I didn't realize the agenda session recordings rolled over. I do know I have had issues with them not being posted but when I contacted the City CLerk they would take quick action to correct it.

I cannot wait to see the minutes of the latest stakeholder meeting held last month on Spirit Launch, the greenfield development project that refused to move 6 blocks to help a blighted area. Do we really need to develop a launch on the worlds largest freshwater estuary when we have launches nearby that are in need of upgrading to accommodate assessability and paddlers needs? As one City administrator keeps reminding me of other projects he will say, is this the highest and best purpose of public funds and land? I guess consistency is not the best public policy after all.

I mentioned the naming of this park to the Indigenous Commission the night that council was voting on this Spirt Landing. I asked them if the City came to them about the naming of the launch Spirit Launch. They said they knew nothing about it and asked me about the project. I thought the City should have approached the commission because the word Spirit is associated with their island nearby, Spirit Island. I feel that the City has named the launch for marketing reasons because they want it associated to the ski hill. Why not approach the commission? After all, they are going through a naming process of other indigenous areas around Duluth? When I asked the City if the commission was involved in the naming they said the process was open to the public. It is actually named after the results of what happened during a war between the Chippewa (Gitchigamiwiniwug) and the Sioux in the area. The island was named Spirit after this. I'm all for increasing our skills, the problem is that everyone want's their kids to go to college and receive a liberal education, which, as you point out, gives them no life skills, just makes them snowflake whiners who think they can solve the worlds problems even though they can't even unplug their own toilets.

The Federal Government is almost 22 trillion in debt, it seems to be increasing at least linearly, possibly exponentially, but that means the spending problem (and potentially many other government problems) will solve itself soon enough, one way or another.
