Article Tina Smith, PolyMet, and the Toxic Path to…

replied to: Just pointing out that her name was left out of…

Although I knew some things about Tina and also knew that Amy was a co-sponsor, it was quite illuminating information on her beyond what I already knew. A second article on Amy would be informative the public including her involvement with Agriculture committees and and co-sponsoring bills that negatively impact the environment and wildlife and wolves.

Article Tina Smith, PolyMet, and the Toxic Path to…

On June 18, Senator Amy Klobuchar sent a “breaking” email titled: “Ending the outrage at the border.” In it, she rightly stated, “The Trump Administration should never have allowed children to be forcibly separated from their parents at our border. What’s happening right now is a tragedy and an outrage.”

However, neither Trump nor Klobuchar appear to care about children in Minnesota. Right now both are forcibly pushing to allow sulfide mining in Minnesota’s water-rich lake district, disregarding the tragedy it would be for the children who live there. It is an outrage to facilitate development of a sulfide mining industrial zone that would damage the intellect of future generations of children with its toxic brew of neurotoxins—mercury, arsenic, manganese, nickel, and lead. There are many kinds of ‘cages.’ Limiting a child’s future by poisoning that child’s air and water is a particularly insidious one.

Today’s headline: “Glencore shares dive after subpoena from justice department.” Glencore is the money behind PolyMet. This is the company our legislators, Republican and Democrat, are supporting; not only by forcing PolyMet’s land exchange through on the national level in order to kill the lawsuits questioning its legality, but also at the state level by attempting to kill Minnesota’s sulfate standard in order to give PolyMet a free pass to pollute our waters. Wake up Minnesota!

“The subpoena from the US Department of Justice is in relation to compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and money-laundering laws.” (BBC)

Article ISD 709 transparency problems

Keep nailing them scalps to the wall, John. Because the brave men of the local newspaper are never going to do it. The DNT functions as the public relations arm of the DFL in the same way that Fox News functions as the public relations arm of the Trump administration.

Article False Claims for Nuclear Power Refuted by Amory…

I'm an admirer of Amery Lovins from way back. I broadcasted his speech at the 1994 Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin over the public radio station WOJB in Hayward. As usual, his logic is irrefutable. As a side note, the intermittency of wind and solar power would be compensated for if energy generated during times of abundance was stored in the form of hydrogen gas. Just like it is child's play to refute the case for nuclear power, it is also simple to refute the arguments against the use of hydrogen, as I do in the following essay.

Article Fukushima’s “Hot Particles” Travelled …

Hi John, the Narrative over Fukushima has always been confusing. It is by far the worst Nuclear disaster in history, as it continues to pour insane levels of radiation into the ocean - yet nobody talks about it. It's like the national debt in that way, it's there, it's obviously bad and will destroy us some day, yet It has been successfully swept into the Memory hole.

Article The Supreme Court, the Muslim Ban, and Trump’s…

... and none of this would have happened if the Democrats had run a decent candidate. Personally, I feel that Trump is president for just long enough for the wealthy in this country to profit, that the Mueller investigation is there to keep him in line.. and sadly.. I find this situation preferable to 4 years with Hillary.

Agreed, Klobachar works across the aisle on non-issues pretending to be effective. Meanwhile she rolls over, doing the bidding of the those people "with a lot of money" while the nation circles the drain

Article The Blab-o-sphere and the First Amendment

Hey Forrest, Mueller is obviously tainted. He is a long time DOJ employee who is covering up for the politicizing of the department of justice because they ran a counter intelligence operation into the Trump campaign. That is something you should be concerned about. Maybe your echo chamber is too loud.

Article Are we now a Soviet bloc country?

Hi Sue-
Because
1. Today Russia is NOT a communist country
2. Neither are we unless we let socialists like you take over.
Therefore
3. Nothing in your article makes any sense.

Article The Bethel elm

Great article, but John, you should buy a mountain bike. It will help you get out and enjoy those green spaces. On the other hand, you could start jogging or hiking on those trails, they're shared.

Article Collusion Confusion

Jen, there is zero evidence. Don't you need to commit a crime before you're investigated? Mueller has nothing on Trump, and further he is about to lose his case against Manafort (which has nothing to do with Trump.) When he does, i'll hand you a tissue.
