Article More Reasons Why Big Pharma’s Multinational…

This week, He spent one page defending his hero status, comparing himself to Jesus as well as others, and another page of cut and paste quotes that required scientific knowledge to understand. On that first page, I found one fact, about how only 10% of the world’s population has received the smallpox vaccine. He seemed to think this indicated the vaccine had nothing to do with eradicating the disease. It’s the kind of statistic that is easily misused. I wish Gary would spend more of the space he is given expanding on just why he thinks isolated facts like this are meaningful and less time attacking the scientific community.

He does not seem to understand that science is done by our neighbors. How many of us know a young person who headed to nursing school this year? Are they off to help save lives, or to join a vast conspiracy? Science allows all voices to be heard, but Gary picks out just a few of them then claims they are being silenced. He should be evaluating their work, which is what scientists do for each other every day.

If you consider Gary or any of those he quoted to be some kind of expert, you should still question them, because that’s how science works. Scientists and doctors welcome inquiry. Science is not the opinion of one pharmaceutical company or one man. It is our combined knowledge, based on decades of data. We rely on a consensus of experts, who constantly check each other’s work, to understand it and help us interpret it.

In his recent book, War on Science, Shawn Otto says, “The very essence of the scientific process is to question long-held assumptions about the nature of the universe, to dream up experiments that test those questions, and, based on the resulting observations, to incrementally build knowledge that is independent of our beliefs, assumptions, and identities.” This is what Gary says he is doing, but if you question Gary, his response is to try to publicly shame you, doubling down on the same poorly constructed arguments you questioned in the first place.

Gary doesn’t see it that way. He thinks scientists lie to us to get our money. There are lots easier ways to make money. Gary needs to say this system doesn’t work, because otherwise his arguments are seen for what they are. The system that has allowed millions to live full and healthy lives is corrupt according to Gary. It is doing the exact opposite of what it claims to be doing.

The anti-authoritarian nature of science is a threat to Gary. He wants to be a hero, and from the letters in support of him, I can see some people believe he is. We have plenty of heroes. People who work to insure vaccines are safe or who fight for grant money to work on the next breakthrough. People who contribute to the 500 years of progress of science, rather than trying to tear it down. Gary could easily be that sort of hero. You could too. By doing basically the same kind of research Gary does, but be willing to be convinced by where the evidence takes you, instead of by one person’s opinion.

This article provides a much needed understanding of some of the fallacies of blind acceptance of the vaccines cure everything model of medical care that has been the norm for far too many generations. I hope this can reach those who it will most affect now.

Article Being a Heretic in the Church/Cult of Big Pharma

Gary has dismissed the 367 deaths a day from measles, and calls measles “benign”. He supports Andrew Wakefield, who tried to discredit the MMR vaccine so he could sell his own patented vaccine. He apparently isn’t going to stop supporting this death and greed. Now he says pharmaceutical companies are greedy, and they are getting rich off vaccines, let’s look at that.
He has used numbers from 24 to 47 billion as the annual revenue these heartless businessmen are getting from our pain. I’m not going to bother arguing with him, since anyone can look up that “Big Pharma” as a whole makes over a 1 trillion. Vaccines are a tiny part of their profits, hardly worth risking their reputation, which Gary points out is already tenuous. And, we’re only talking revenues. Drugs take investment to create. A drug that has a good shelf life and is made the same way year after year is much more profitable than a vaccine.
I can’t go over the books of every company making vaccines, but using common sense accounting, and looking at publicly available information, we can estimate the actual profit after admin, cost of goods, sales costs, taxes and depreciation. The entire vaccine profit is probably a few billion a year, spread out over 50 different vaccines. No Big Pharma exec could pitch that in a board room as a way to make windfall profits and be taken seriously. Vaccines are one of the greatest bargains in modern medicine.
If numbers mean something, the naturopathic medicine industry annual revenues are 34 billion. They spend that money on lawyers and lobbyists and marketing. 1/3 of those medicines are untested. They depend on you being afraid of the tested and regulated and proven medicines that come with warnings about the risks because the risk is known and studied and published. That risk is almost nil compared to the risk of death by measles. In less affluent countries where vaccine rates are low, it is a risk that hundreds of families a day would gladly have taken, rather than have lost a loved one.

Article An Honest Look at the Historical Evidence That…

If one checks actual websites that deal with infectious diseases and which contain facts and figures about the incidence of say, Diphtheria or Measles during a certain year, one finds that Dr. Kohls is either not being honest about the affects of vaccines, or else doesn't know that what he say's is just not the case.

If one visits the CDC website which has stats relevant to the incidence of certain infectious diseases, and how many death from resulted during certain years, as well as after the introduction of vaccines. The website also lists the cases and the number of deaths caused each year, which all began to diminish around the times these vaccines were first introduced. By examining them, one can clearly see that in most, or all cases, many infectious diseases have begun to decrease. However as DR. Kohls says, the numbers of infectious diseases has decreased, not just because of modern inoculations.

However, Kohls graphs exaggerate the notion that, many years ago other factors were already causing favorable outcomes---like improvements in sanitation, the supply of healthy foods and medications, along with the use of penicillin and antibiotics which dealt the first blow.

In actuality though, the vaccine for Measles was first introduced around 1962 or 1963, and after one small upturn, disease rates of the measles began to plummet. However it wasn't until the use of DTP vaccination became widespread, that the very low incidence of Measels began to diminish even further, and would soon become almost non-existent,

Kohls's graphs are misleading because he deliberately emphasizes the fact that, in many cases, the incidence and number of deaths began to rapidly decline, not just with the introductions of modern vaccines, but also many years before, when penicillin and antibiotics became wildly used. It was during those years that kohls claims the numbers of cases dropped by about 90% before those modern vaccines were even widely used.

Here are the reasons for that contradiction:

It was not just that, say, that eliminating diseases like diphtheria and the measles have helped safeguarded our collective health?--It's also that many years before vaccines, death rates also plummeted long before vaccines were used to help treat these diseases, without serious of negative consequences. But if one does a little detective work one will soon wonder what the attacks against vaccines are motivated by? Diphtheria began its decline in the 1930s, polio in the 1950s, measles in the 1960s, chickenpox in the 1990s and rotavirus in the 2000s--all after the new vaccines became available? And if better sanitation, nutrition, and healthy practices are almost completely responsible for the the positive results concerning Pre-vaccine infections illnesses, then why would all of the above diseases not begin to diminish at the same time? Our increases in health and sanitation happened in a linear fashion, so when those in Maine benefit from new health practices, that knowledge should also be passed along nationwide, in a relatively short period of time.

Even though all these facts testify for he safety of vaccines, I can't say that I too, wouldn't be very anxious and up in arms, about anything that might threaten the life of my child. However, when complications follow in a very small number of cases, let's not forget that in every drug and inoculation that our Doctors might prescribe, there are going to be risks involved. So, whatever course we choose to take, we should not loose sight of the fact that one sick child can infect hundreds of other children just by going to school. Therefore, it would seem logical that any parent who chooses not to vaccinate, should arrange for some kind of home schooling instead.

One final point, what does Dr. Kohls mean by this statement?:

"8] Let’s focus on another infectious disease—measles. Keep in mind that by 1963, almost no one died from measles. During this year, the whole of New England had only five deaths (Maine: 1, New Hampshire: 0, Vermont: 3, Massachusetts: 0, Rhode Island: 1, Connecticut: 0) that were attributed to measles."

The fact is that any of us who are over 60 years old knows better, because during the 1950s and 60s we received vaccinations for a number of transmittable diseases--One of them was the measles. I remember standing in a in a line in a school gym for more than an hour until we had all received shots, including what was infamously feared as a "booster" shot. We were all a little scared because we could hear our classmates ahead of us screaming and crying during what seemed to be a very traumatic event. But the shots were sorely needed because all of us, and virtually everyone we knew, had at least one child who became sick with the measles. And thanks to those vaccinations, what had been an epidemic, soon plummeted and is now is almost unheard of.

Its also strange that DR. Kohls would cherry picked the measles death rates of a few states like, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island, Those few states can hardly represent measles cases in our entire country. And anyway, even though these states experienced only a small number of deaths in 1963, that does not rule our the fact that many active cases may still have been occurring while just a few people actually died. It's surprising that someone like Kohls who frequently calls out others for their devious and dishonest actions should try to cherry pick data and use red herrings ot make his points?

Here is a mainstream website which contains tables filled with teh figures and stats concerning common infectious diseases and how the have been diminished throughout time. We all have a right to be informed and to protect our children, but we needn't become overcome with fear until it clouds our judgments. There are many other children involved, not just our own!

Here is a good link to a chart with facts and figures compiled by the CDC:

Article The Elephant in the Sky

As Gary moves on to the next conspiracy theory, let’s look at his strategy in general. I showed Gary these steps. He says this is what Big Pharma and mainstream media and whoever else he rails against does. I’ll show how you can tell fake from real after showing this 7 step method of phony science.
This system starts with an industry that is somehow threatened by established science facts. It funds and creates information that looks scientific, but isn’t. You can see where the Duluth Reader begins to play a role in this, somewhere around step 5. Whether the Reader or Gary Kohls are unwitting participants or willing supporters of these industries is known only to them.
1 – Create uncertainty about accepted views of science. Not with new science, but by cherry picking papers or experiments that were never confirmed or were proven false. Any isolated article will do.
2 – Spoon feed the press with this disinformation through non-profits and bloggers.
3 – Build and finance industry-aligned front groups that appear to be grassroots efforts.
4 – Recruit professionals into the campaign.
5 – Talk-radio and cable news and more from the earlier steps should pick up the story at this point. They might not realize the source.
6 – The political support is now there. Votes can be had by supporting the ideas. Questioning these unscientific sources can get you labeled as the one who hasn’t read the latest research.
7 – The industry behind the phony science can now step out of the shadows, supported by every aspect of mainstream society. They can appear to be neutral and positive voices in the debate. Maybe even play the victim.

How can we recognize this is happening? It’s not as hard as you think. You need to compare the stories that are published through all the steps with the actual science. You don’t need a degree in every possible science, but you need to learn what actual science looks like. It looks like the articles printed in accepted journals like Nature or Scientific American. It looks like what is being taught in Universities around the world.

You may not be able to evaluate every study but you can evaluate the methodology. You can see who did the study and see if they have knowledge and experience and if they are respected by others with similar knowledge and experience. You can see if something was predicted based on their knowledge that was later shown to be true. You can evaluate where they say their knowledge came from. Did it come from institutions of learning where you would send your children or are they someplace you’ve never heard of? If a study is quoted, get the name of it and who wrote it. Look it up and look up if it has been refuted or even retracted. Often, you need look no further than whatever article you are reading. Does it have a byline saying who wrote it? If there are sources, check a couple of them with the above tests. I have seen citations that actually don’t lead anywhere, or lead to studies that don’t say what the article says it does.

Try this test. There is probably something that comes from universities and science journals that you accept, like the earth is 4.5 billion years old, we went to the moon, climate change is being caused by human action, or germs make you sick. Look at how you were convinced of whatever you accept as true. Look at all the things that would need to be explained if they were not true. Now, apply those standards to vaccines or chemtrails or whatever else is being questioned. If you apply standards of logic and evidence honestly and equally, you will arrive at the best conclusions that humans are currently capable of. If you want to align yourself with the real world, you should at least give it a shot.

Article Don’t Criticize What You Can’t Understand…

Dr. Gary Kohls–Keep on keeping on! Forget the naysaying trolls. What Orwell writes about a society drifting from the truth, hating the truth-tellers more as it drifts further is on-the-mark. What Barbara Tuchman writes about in “The March of Folly”–from the Trojan Horse to the British loss of the American colonies to the Vietnam War disaster–those dwelling in the dark caverns of ignorance are always found out. (But, alas, it is often too late to "save" them and those they "care" about. We can lament the ignorance and the arrogance, but be steadfast in our quest for truth–as you have been in this article and others. Thank you for all the good work that you do! – Gary Corseri

Article Don’t Criticize What You Can’t Understand…

Gary Kohls tries to impress us with his research once again. He insists he knows better than entire institutions tasked with making safe vaccines. He said we should all “pause and consider” the data he has found. Let’s look at how to determine when a reference is not really a reference. The first is MedCrave. Let’s go there and use their own “About” page and see what they mean by “Peer Reviewed”, “Peer review is the checking and scrutinizing process by which an article, content or a manuscript submitted by an Author is checked by the members of MedCrave.” So we don’t know anything except they looked at it and liked it. Let’s move on to MedicalVeritas.org. I always check if they are selling anything and right at the top we get “Sponsors, Donations and Store”, where you can buy OxySilver or link to CureShoppe.com. Or look around and read about the Rockefeller Foundations War on Consciousness.
For the next, we get a complete name and publisher of the study, which is awesome, something an article on science should provide, so I googled the whole thing, “Journal of Translational Science (JTS) - April 24, 2017 Pilot Comparative Study on the Health of Vaccinated and Unvaccinated 6- to 12-year old US Children By Anthony R Mawson et al – April 24, 2017“ and it came up in retractionwatch.com. Gary is linking you to studies he calls real, but have been retracted which means they aren’t real. Gary tries to warn us away from sites like this, saying they are paid off as well. Thus Gary takes away every possible avenue we have of refuting his argument, short of an 8 eight year degree. But even then, Gary would say the holder of that degree was brainwashed by that institution of higher learning. He would have us believe that no one else even reads these studies except him.
So we are left believing Gary, or the rest of the world, and he gives us one of his own articles just to drive the point home. Can’t forget to self-promote. Is there is any point in continuing to check up on his facts? Oh, what the heck, let’s go over this one, one more time, since Gary lives in a bubble and doesn’t read any actual science. The reason autism rates are up is that we identified the spectrum and we diagnose it now. We now care for these children and treat them properly because of this advancement. It has always existed, we just used to call them “retarded” and sent them to institutions or worse. Gary is using correlation, which any freshman student knows is not causation.
And before you commit a logical fallacy, Gary’s inability to construct a coherent argument is not proof that his conclusion is wrong. He may be right, but it would be entirely by coincidence, because as I’ve shown, his arguments are horribly flawed.
