The Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve, with support from the City of Superior, are holding a beach cleanup at Wisconsin Point. The Point is a beautiful place between Lake Superior and the St. Louis River Estuary. It is an official “Important Bird Area,” and is one of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine’s eight “Best Spots for Bird Watching in the U.S.” Help us keep the Point clean and enjoyable for people and birds! We’ll also be asking for your help in identifying hotspots of spotted knapweed, which will be removed later in the season. No prior training necessary. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Wear sturdy footwear for sand and beaches, occasional damp or wet areas, pavement and bare rock surfaces.
