Pagami Creek Fire 10th anniversary

The talk and slide presentation will feature photos of the aftermath of the Pagami Creek Fire that burned down 95% of the 30-mile-long Powwow Trail. It was the Boundary Waters Advisory Committee that organized as many as 27 crews each year to make the trail passable again, cutting thousands of new dead falls. Join us and see how they accomplished it, learn about the new log bridge in the wilderness, and how BWA Committee and the US Forest Service are bringing back the original campsites and what to see on the trail. Frost River will give a brief tour of their new solar power installation. A bandanna map of the Powwow Trail by True North Map Co. will be given away. There will be information about the upcoming trail clearing trip on Saturday, Oct. 16.
