Understanding Treaty Rights in Northern Minnesota

The event is in Room S-2964 in the Administration and Student Services Building at Lake Superior College. Presenters will be Sonny Meyers, executive director of the 1854 Treaty Authority and a citizen of the Grand Portage Band, and Doug Thompson, tribal relations specialist for the Chippewa National Forest. The presentation will cover treaty rights in the 1854 Ceded Territory as well as the unique treaty rights history of the Chippewa National Forest on lands that overlap with the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.
