The Duluth Drag Races, presented by Redline Performance, will return to Garfield Avenue after a 5-year hiatus due to the Twin Ports Interchange Project and will take place on Sept. 27-28.
 

This two-day event is the only 1/8-mile legalized drag racing event done on a public street in the United States and takes place in Duluth on Garfield Avenue in Lincoln Park.

In 2019 more than 200 drivers registered to participate, with 125 being selected to race in front of the 5,000-7,500 guests who typically attended the event each year. The event began in 2007 with then Duluth City Council President Russ Stover championed the event for Duluth.

The website duluthdragrace.com has been updated and is now live. Drivers who wish to race can register (pending they meet all safety and experience criteria) on the website. 

Spectator tickets can also be purchased by visiting the website.

The Duluth Drag Races, presented by Redline Performance will also continue to support area nonprofit groups who generate money for their organizations by volunteering at the event. This year the Valley Youth Center is the primary nonprofit organization, and portions of the proceeds from this event are donated to the Valley Youth Center to support their mission.
