Dumb politicians Series #14
The big dope Trump thinks he should copyright the phrase he "came up with" – Make America Great Again. Lots of luck, idiot!
Here are a few dumb quotes from MAGA’s majordomo dummy:
In a 1991 Esquire interview, Trump was asked about getting bad press: “You know, it doesn’t really matter what they write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”
“I think if this country gets any kinder or gentler, it’s literally going to cease to exist.” March 1990
In a March 2006 appearance on The View with daughter Ivanka, Trump was asked how he would react if Playboy magazine were to ever feature Ivanka. “I don’t think Ivanka would do that inside the magazine. Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I would be dating her.”
“The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” June 10, 2012
“My motto is: Always get even. When somebody screws you, screw them back in spades.” Trump in the 2008 book Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life
“I will be phenomenal to the women. I mean, I want to help women.” September 2015
October 19, 2015: “It’s really cold outside, they are calling it a major freeze, weeks ahead of normal. Man, we could use a big fat dose of global warming!”
“I alone can fix it” is a frequent Trump statement. At the Republican convention in 2016 he said, “Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.”
February 2016, “I love the poorly educated.”
In 2024 he said he is the only one who can end the war in Ukraine, and “I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”
Trump says if elected again he will fix “anti-whiteness” in this country. “I think there is a definite anti-white feeling in this country and that can’t be allowed.” April 2024
“The line of ‘Make America great again,’ the phrase, that was mine, I came up with it about a year ago, and I kept using it, and everybody’s using it, they are all loving it. I don’t know, I guess I should copyright it, maybe I have copyrighted it.” March 2015 . (Note: “Let’s Make America Great Again” was one of Ronald Reagan’s most well-known campaign slogans in 1979. )
On August 11, 2017, Neo-nazis, the alt-right and white supremacists came together for the “Unite The Right” rally as they marched through the University of Virginia campus with torches in Charlottesville, Va. James Fields rammed his car into a crowd of anti-racist protesters, killing Heather Heyer and injuring several others. Trump, who was president during this time, stated “You also had some very fine people on both sides.”
“We have to have safety in our country. We have to have law and order in our country...I would have no problem using the military,” Trump says in an recent interview with Time magazine. He was referring to use of military personnel to apprehend and deport immigrants.
When reminded that federal law prohibits using the military for normal civilian policing, he said, “...these [immigrants] aren’t civilians. These are people that aren’t legally in our country. This is an invasion of our country...you have to do what you have to do to stop crime and to stop what’s taking place at the border.”
So to enforce the law it is OK to break the law? One would hope that candidates for President should have at least a cursory understanding of how our laws work.
