What started as a city picnic in 1955 has grown into a four-day festival that draws thousands. Events include softball, volleyball and bean bag tournaments, 5K race, turtle races, bingo, queen coronation, parade, fireworks, live music, Shockwaves water ski show and more.

Wussow’s 25th Anniversary Party

Wussow’s Concert Café
An inclusive and supportive home for local artists, musicians, writers for a quarter of a century. Friday features DJ Norby, A Band Called Truman, Brasszilla and Jason Wussow’s ska band Woodblind. Saturday has Super D & the Double Chucks and Emma Lee Hart & Ian Alexy.

“The Seeker” is a unique audio tour combining music, education and guided meditation which visitors can listen to while walking the nature trail. Crystal Myslajek and Peter Morrow, who contributed to the soundtrack, perform a free concert.

Free air show over Lake Superior performed by the men and women in nine planes of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, best viewed from Lakewalk or, for a higher vantage point, Skyline Parkway.

Spy Pilot: Francis Gary Powers & The U-2 Incident

With newly available information, the son of the famed U-2 pilot presents the facts and dispels misinformation about the Cold War espionage program that his father was part of.
