Askov Rutabaga Festival Fri.-Sun., Aug. 25-27 Askov, Minn. The underestimated vegetable gets its due in this small town that was known as The Rutabaga Capital of the World for 60 years, supplying produce for Campbell’s soups. Live music, a parade, 5k race, royalty coronation, food stands, craft  fair, exhibits, dance and more.  

Dirtbike Boyfriend Friday, Aug. 25, 7 p.m. Wussow’s Solo indy-folk, poetry-rock project launched by photographer, clothing designer and videographer Bret Holland, who strums an electric guitar and takes unexpected dives into dark places without feeling heavy. With A Sunken Ship Irony, ShugE and Cap’n Seabeard.  

Once Upon a Patio Saturday, Aug. 26, 4-8 p.m. Buffalo House Acoustic show with five singers/songwriters/storytellers – Bo Allen, Shane Nelson, Zach & Josie Langhorst and Lexie Houle – playing favorites plus songs you haven't heard yet.  

Carrie Nation & The Speakeasy Saturday, Aug. 26, 7 p.m. Spurs on First The band from Wichita again brings its high-energy "brass 'n' grass,” a blend of bluegrass, ska, punk and dixieland, to this annual summer block street party.  

Mino Bimaadizi Community Science & Medicine Fair Sunday, Aug. 27, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Park Point Beach House  This is a family event that will include a fun walk/run, science and medicine fair with meet and greets with local Indigenous and BIPOC science and medical professionals, a feast, traditional lacrosse games and an Indigenous comedian.  

Catch The Wave Freewill Concert Sundays, Aug. 27 & Sept. 3, 2:50 p.m. Thomas Owens Park, Two Harbors This Sunday features the Shane Nelson Band, Maxi Childs, Ron Koivisto and Born Too Late. Next Sunday features Indecent Proposal. Free ice cream treats, donations accepted to benefit KTWH Two Harbors Community Radio.

Mountain Biking (MTB) Summer Nights Thursday, Aug. 31, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Spirit Mountain Grand Ave. Chalet Event at the Spirit Mountain Bike Park with live music, food and drink, mobile sauna, raffle, free maintenance by The Bike Cave, clinics, rides, a downhill race and a helmet drive.
