Music in the Pines June 16-18 Itasca County Fairgrounds, Grand Rapids Annual weekend-long bluegrass jam session begun in 1989 by Lloyd LaPlant and Tom Hopkins, members of the band Not Necessarily Bluegrass, always the third full weekend in June. Overnight camping available and a potluck supper Saturday.   

Fashion Show Friday, June 16, 9 p.m. Rex Bar Multi-media event that includes a fashion show from area artists (painters, dancers, photographers, interior decor) flexing their style. DJ Sox curates the fashion show followed by a concert by Sadkin, followed by a dance party from The Crunchy Bunch. Guests are encouraged to be part of the event by dressing in their most creative attire.  

Land of the Loon Ethnic Arts & Crafts Festival June 17 & 18 Olcott Park, Virginia Artisans, crafters, musicians, entertainers and cooks celebrate the immigrants who settled in Northeastern Minnesota. Saturday begins with a parade down Chestnut Street and Fifth Avenue, then the activities shift to Olcott Park with ethnic foods, music from countries around the world and hundreds of art and craft booths.  

Gabe Mayfield Saturday, June 17, 7:30 p.m. Studio 4 Originally from Chicago, Mayfield has acted in Duluth Playhouse and Renegade Theater Company productions. Here he will be performing songs from his albums “Power of Love” and “Showdown” with a few show tunes in the mix.  

Juneteenth Sunday, June 18, 12 p.m. Central Hillside Community Center Harrison Community Center Two celebrations in Duluth, downtown and Lincoln Park, commemorating the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.  

Listening Party Tuesday, June 20, 7 p.m. Chester Bowl Chester Creek Concert Series hosts this duo out of Milwaukee, who present a brand of Northern folk-rock driven by the lighthearted storytelling from singer-songwriter Weston Mueller and music by multi-instrumentalist Jacob Wood.   

The Lowest Pair, Wild Horses Wednesday, June 21, 7 p.m. Earth Ride Brewery Hailing from the deep woods of northern Minnesota, Wild Horses makes a home between folk, country western and rock music. The Lowest Pair (Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee) are kindred spirits who met on the banks of the Mississippi while touring the Midwest festival circuit and released an acclaimed Americana album, The Perfect Plan.
