Can you hear the howling?

Justice finally catching up with Trump has the rightwing howling about politicized prosecution. They whine that Trump has been indicted because he’s running for president. But, really, Trump has been running for president hoping to avoid indictment. Welcome to the topsy-turvy world of MAGA psychological projection. Trump’s mentor, the late mafia lawyer Roy Cohn, taught Trump to always accuse your enemies of doing exactly what you yourself are doing. Indicting a former president could only happen in a 3rd world country, the cult sobs. But it was their coup attempt that resembled certain 3rd world countries. Besides, plenty of democracies have prosecuted former leaders. Trump the bully, conman and convicted sex-abuser is held up as a poor widdle victim, as the fascism he promoted and normalized remains a threat to our democracy. What becomes of a personality cult when its cult leader goes away? Who will be the next would-be tinpot dictator to lead the fascist cause?

Time to look at facts

Recently a regular letter writer left a completely formulaic diatribe that was full of the usual accusations aimed at  Dems i.e that we are communists, godless atheists, (promote) killing Babies in the womb, perverting marriage, and (promoting) other gods rather than the real one? Gregg Schweiger has issued all these accusations against Democrats over and over again until they have become such common tropes that many of us can recite them in our sleep.

One problem though, none of them are true! Yet Mr. Schweiger doesn't care, as long as accusing democrats of being evil produces misinformed votes for his hero.Thus, this is a good point to look at actual facts; God created men and women who can have children, But Jesus never condemned a gay person for loving another gay person. As far as having children, many gay couples use one of their genes sets and hire a surrogate to actually have the child.

However, this same thing has also been done by many straight couples who, for a variety of reasons, can't conceive. So currently, having children is not restricted to one man and his female wife! Mr.Schweiger may think such actions are (godless), but as long as any couple is in love and wants children, who is anyone to deny them the use of all options?T he truth is that, gays and transgenders are being "self-righteously" condemned as being perverse, (even though the same God made them the way they are).    

As late as 1975 psychiatrists considered being gay a pathological condition but after extensive research they have dropped that adjective. These psychiatrists were not paid off, nor are they scheming to make all children become gay!  And have they (NOT) been paid enmasse to tell us that being gay is not a pathological condition--even if many misinformed people feel entitled ignore scientific research that doesn't fit their preconceptions.  

Are many Dems Communists and"Godless atheists?" No--in reality there are tens of millions of Democrats in the US, who belong to Christian Churches, or who attend church services at times. here's a link to a pew research article    https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/religious-landscape-study/compare/christians/by/party-affiliation/ about religious affiliations and politics in 2023:   82% are Repubs, or lean/ Republican, and 63% are Dems or /lean towards Dems.   So although there are more Christian Republicans, a 19% difference hardly amounts to a tidal wave of righteousness.  

How about communists?--are many Dems communists? No none of them are! they are Dems!! However Democracy and socialism involve the desire to defend the rights of working people to have safer workplaces, adequate pay, and reasonable hours of work etc. Why? Look at places like the old Minnesota Iron range where employers had the absolute right to fire of hire anyone they pleased. Well, they got good workers, but for every job opening dozens of applicants were turned away and became victims of poverty, starvation and death--even though they desperately tried to get work! That's why unions are needed to make big business owners and executives aware that they actually employ real, living, breathing, people!  

Communism is a political philosophy that proposes humane ways to provide human need, via creating a classless societies. But To date, not one truly  Communist country has taken root in the world. Lenin, Stalin, and Mao, were horrific, cruel, tyrants who killed millions of their own people just to hold onto power! But Like many Dems today I grew up in a community composed of relatives and friends who worked hard to care for their families. And although we wanted business owner's to be responsive to the needs of employees, none of us wanted to be forced to share all our material possessions or have large corporations completely run by the government. But because of the Hopelessness and animosity that big businesses created, they also created the need for everyday workers to protect their health and future well being. Thus big business owners are  directly responsible for creating the need for labor to organize in the first place. How ironic is that?  

This post is not meant to brainwash capitalists into changing their ways it was written only to answer some of the false claims in Mr. Schweigers animosity filled screed--designed to spread misunderstanding and fear about Dems (in the first place)! It was written only in defense of real facts which anyone is free to accept or reject! But gays are not trying to make everyone gay! Nor are Transexuals eager to have gender change operations in response to social coercion or ideological cruelty. Science has learned that a different set of genes may govern brain development and also the physical genders of transgender people--creating in a body which does not match their minds. And only someone living in the Bizarro could believe that just by discussing this issue, sinister Dems are seeking to control their children's minds!
