Inflation isn’t Biden’s fault

According to Forbes, “When the federal government passed the CARES Act in March 2020, there was a strong justification for doing so. Without it, the U.S. would have faced a very dark economic period, some even say a depression.”

“In the most recent fiscal year ending September 30, 2020, the U.S. had a $3.129 trillion budget shortfall, more than twice the $1.4 trillion deficit during the 2008 fiscal crisis. “

And guess who was president on Sept. 30, 2020? Trump!

Trump added trillions in spending but refused to raise taxes on high-income earners, therefore Biden was left with quite a problem the moment he was sworn in.

No doubt the federal government is doing some pretty ambitious spending now, however, taxes levied on those who earn more than $400,000/year will help minimize our deficit spending and thus, help pay for additional stresses on our economy. Then there is this fact – “Currently, the Federal Reserve continues to buy Treasury Bonds and mortgage-backed securities to the tune of $120 billion per month. In other words, the Fed has been adding $120 billion per month to the money supply.” – something which will also minimize strains on costs and thus on inflation.

Forbes says Democrats are endorsing Socialist policies. But Democrats consider their role as part of a duly elected government, to spend money and raise revenues, thus preventing the lower supplies and higher demands behind our continuous inflation, and our continuing bottlenecked supply chain – all created by Trump’s inept response to the Covid-19 pandemic, during which drastically low employment decimated the supply chain, requiring product producers to raise prices, which in turn, raised retail prices for all of us!

So don’t be fooled by Republicans exploiting our present situation, rather, think of the political history behind our current inflation, which was largely caused by Trump!

The Blame Game

In preparation for Christmas 2021 I have invented a new board game! It is similar to the popular game of Monopoly. It is a square board with spaces to stop your game piece. The game pieces are: Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Garland, Fauci, Blinkin, Milley, Schumer, AOC, Omar (many more). Just like in Monopoly, there are several “bad” stops one does NOT want to land including: Boarder Crisis, Afghanistan, Inflation, National Debt, Socialism, CRT, Supply Chain and several others. The corner space on Monopoly called “Go Directly to Jail “ (do not pass “go” and do not collect $200) is now called Hypocrisy! Instead of going to jail, the player must yell out…..”I am a Hypocrite”!

 So, here are the rules of the game:

Landing on a bad space – player must blame Trump!

White  House – when a player lands on the space called “White House”, the player removes his game piece from the board and promises never to run for the White House!

DNC – when a player lands on the space called DNC, the player will promise to join the RNC!
 Finally, how does a player win? Sorry, there are NO winners, just losers! All of the game pieces are losers!

Almost perfect idiocy

Perfectionism is one of mankind’s worst ills. It is tempting, but should be left alone, since it is unattainable. Although, there is a near-perfect vacuum, between the ears of the hard-liners and rookies; cracking the whips and calling the shots from the rafters. Their yammering and bellowing have drowned out normalcy.

Too late for vigilance?

It seems as if some wolf-whistle call on social (a misnomer?) media has declared open season on demonstrators, liberals, black people and queers. When a snot-nosed kid with advanced firepower, and with the support of his mommy, can wade into a crowd, set to kill, getting the thanks and a pat on the back from Nazi cops (“need a bottle of water?”) and the full and tacit support of an incompetent judge and a weepy jury, it’s a clear message that chaos is here.

Look at it. In two states there are now laws that permit neighbors to turn in their neighbors for social crimes and get rewarded for it. One allows for taking down a school board for teachers teaching the truth about our racist history. The other is for legally allowing abortion.

The principle instigator of this chaos, the deposed saint of the far right, has called the smug, arrogant, trigger-happy teenager “a fine young man.”

Just more proof, if it was needed, that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. In our current situation in this country, where a lawyer who illegally tried to overturn the election results has been appointed to the U.S. election board, (talk about a fox in the hen house!) what else can one think?

Republican machinations in every state are determined not to lose this next election (“won’t make that mistake again!”).

One might be forgiven for believing that such vigilance is already too late. Keeps me awake nights.
