Duluth hosts Independent film & TV festival
Catalyst Content, a festival for the independent film and television industry, took place Oct. 9-13 in Duluth’s Old Downtown. Producers, actors, writers and directors from around the world braved the snow, rain, mud and road construction to view films, shorts and pilots and make connections at Zeitgeist, the Norshor, Greysolon Ballroom and Fitger’s Spirit of the North Theater. Meanwhile local artists reopened the old Carlson Books space to host Embassy 35, an interactive art event, during the fest. Duluth and Superior, St. Louis County and the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation all helped finance aspects of the event in hopes that it will attract film production to the region.
