Cookie Temptations

A warm and friendly aroma greets you when you enter Cookie Temptations. Owner Jennifer Young is also warm and friendly. Her unique gourmet cookie shop creates sugar cookies that are designed in the finest chocolate. All their sugar cookies are all baked right there in their small shop located in the upper Woodland business district on the corner of Calvary Road and Woodland Avenue. They have been in business for three years now, though Jennifer says she has been baking custom cookies for a good number of years from her home.

It was a school friend who told me about a friend of hers, who was just diagnosed with cancer. It was then that Jennifer felt a calling to help and decided to sell sugar cookies she was making at Christmas time. With encouragement from her sister Michele, she gave it a try. She raised $160 for the family. It wasn’t a lot, but at least she knew people were praying and thinking of her and her family. While she dabbled in her kitchen with cookie designs and ingredients, the sugar cookies decorated with chocolate were the hit with her sister and her children.

Jennifer quickly found out that she was able to design with chocolate. She continued her efforts with cookie fundraising for local families while creating more designs as people requested, and the demand kept growing. After two years of baking out of her home, she outgrew her small kitchen. She was working full-time as a business consultant as well, so she took some of her own advice and worked up a business plan to open a full-fledged bakery of her own. On January 26, 2010, Cookie Temptations had its very own dedicated space.

Opening a 500-square-foot store front, she continues to be blessed. With her passion of baking gourmet cookies and helping others, her business has expanded and sells nation-wide through her website (cookietemptations.com). She told me her business has nearly tripled since opening and sometimes feels like they could use a little more space. For now, though, it’s working well. She has a staff of four, one full-time and three part-time workers who put that bit of magic you can taste in every cookie. Their dough is made fresh and uses only the finest all-natural ingredients. They hand roll and cut each and every cookie baked. Their artisans put their talents to work with their finest chocolate to design something special for each client.

Each sugar cookie is individually wrapped with colored ribbon and packaged in their signature box with satin ribbon. They also make cookie bouquets that are sure be a delight to anyone receiving them. Gluten-free sugar cookies are available in any of their designs. They ship anywhere in the nation and with a visit to their website you can see the astounding gallery of cookies they have created as well as customer and business testimonials.

Their edible bouquets and chocolate designed sugar cookies are beautiful and just right for any celebration or unique gift. Whether you are looking for an alternative to wedding cake, a customized cookie, a party favor no one will forget, a gift for any holiday, or a way to showcase your company, Cookie Temptations can bake up a fresh idea for you. Their commitment to quality and freshness as well as creativity is their hallmark. There is a smile and hopeful blessings in every bite.
